Q. My G6 is already here. I do not want to use the original application. Can I start with xDrip+, also enter the code of the sensor and then calibrate it only when it is needed? Is that correct?
A. Yes, but use the latest nightly version and best to use the Source Wizard to set G6 options. Long press on xDrip+ drop icon in title bar to enable source wizard button on existing installations. Choose G4/G5/G6 and enter your information. This will automatically put in settings for G6, but go to Settings>>G5/G6 Debug and make sure “I am using G6” is checked.

The Dexcom Transmitters (G5/G6) have two communication channels. One channel is dedicated to "phones" and the other channel is dedicated to "receivers/pumps". Only one device can be connected to each channel. Thus, you can connect one phone and one pump, or one phone and one receiver. Each channel is bonded to its connected device, which means no other devices can communicate to it during that time.
Additionally, only one app can use the bonded channel on a phone — thus the xDrip+ and the Dexcom App cannot simultaneously access the data. In other words, Dexcom App and xDrip+ cannot run at the same time and collect data from same transmitter, you have to chose one.

Здесь описано какими действиями предлагается разработчиком xDrip+, при необходимости, делать в этом приложении калибровку для G6.
